高端音频设备已是当今消费者市场的主流，在人人必备的个人音乐播放器和高清多媒体设备等炙手可热的消费电子产品的刺激下，消费者期望音乐座、柱形音箱以及数字有源扬声器等时尚家庭娱乐设备拥有高保真级音质。尽可能地降低高效D类功率放大器产生的热量，是实现小型散热器和纤薄音箱设计的关键技术。意法半导体最新的Sound Terminal芯片STA350BW将D类功放的能效提升至全新的境界，让设计人员能够设计输出功率高达50W且无需散热器的纤薄型音频产品。 

如其它Sound Terminal系列产品一样，STA350BW集成了数字音频处理器和意法半导体首创的强化性能创新技术，如可提升音频清晰度和系统可靠性的多频带动态范围压缩技术（MDRC）。这款系统级芯片能修正不理想的扬声器特性，并新增多项强化技术，如可实现出色低音性能的优化低频响应特性。芯片集成的保护功能可有效防止各种失效状况影响系统正常运行，并可在运行时自动诊断电路，有助于防范系统失效，进而提高应用的总体可靠性。

STA350BW的功率级采用意法半导体独有的FFX^TM技术，实现全数字音频流不间断传输至扬声器。新一代产品为客户提供四个运行时输出配置选择，可支持多种功率放大输出模式，包括2.0、2.1或1.0声道、或2.0声道加1个外部超低音扬声器PWM输出。
